Review Guidelines

Every app on Web App Store is opened and used by a human before it is listed, and every update is reviewed the same way. Most decisions land within two business days. If we reject something you get the reason in the developer console, and you can fix it and resubmit as many times as you need.

1. It has to work

  • The app must load over https at the URL you submit, without a VPN, a private beta invite or a desktop install.
  • Core features must work in a current browser on a phone as well as a laptop.
  • If the app needs an account, give us a working test account in the review notes.
  • A link to a landing page, a waitlist or a download is not an app. Submit the app itself.

2. It has to be yours

  • Submit only apps you built or are authorised to publish.
  • Do not use another company's name, icon, screenshots or branding.
  • Do not submit a copy of an existing app with a new name.

3. The listing has to be honest

  • Screenshots must come from the app as it is today, not from a mockup or a planned version.
  • The description must describe what the app does, not what it might do later.
  • Say plainly if the app is a paid service, a free tier of one, or has ads.
  • No keyword stuffing in the name or subtitle.

4. Content and safety

  • No adult content, gambling for real money, hate speech, harassment, or content that targets a private individual.
  • No malware, cryptominers, scrapers or anything that runs code on a visitor's machine without saying so.
  • Apps handling personal data need a real privacy policy at a working URL.
  • Rate honestly: an app with user-generated content is at least 12+.

5. Ratings and reviews

  • You cannot review your own app; the store refuses it.
  • Do not offer anything in exchange for a review.
  • You may reply to any review of your app, once, from the developer console.
